Online Glories of the Upanishads: Mandukya Upanishad
with Swami Jnaneswariananda
February 19 - 21, 2021
There is no book in this world which is so thrilling and illuminating as the Upanishads. The Upanishads contain the spiritual experiences of the Seers and Rishis of India.
Constant study of the Upanishads will elevate your mind and help you to reach the first stage of Jnana. Meditation on Om with meaning and feeling will enable you to attain Self-realisation.
May you become a Jivanmuktas
Swami Sivananda
The Mandukya Upanishad is the shortest of the Priniciple Upanishads, composed of just 12 short verses. And yet volumes have been written on its meaning. It is at once an exposition on the meaning of the sacred syllable OM and a guide to understanding the nature of our body, mind, and soul. It is declared that study of the Mandukya Upanishad alone is sufficient for Moksha or liberation.
This course will serve as an introduction to study of the Upanishads and the Advaita Vedanta Philosophy espoused in these ancient texts. The verses of the Mandukya Upanishad will be discussed with the meaning and significance explained. For those already familiar with Vedanta, this will be an opportunity to go deeper into the intellectual inquiry these teachings inspire.
