Description

Raja Yoga is the royal Yoga path of mind control and meditation. The purpose of Raja Yoga is to bring the mind to calmness so one can realize the Self, the Peace and Bliss within. This 5-day course introduces you to the Raja Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Students learn to apply the classical teachings in the context of daily life, gain understanding of the workings of the mind, and learn techniques and practices to gain mastery over the mind:

Topics

  • Learn how to identify the causes of our suffering in daily life
  • Increase vital energy (prana) and become stronger physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually
  • Learn methods to reduce distractions and increase concentration and peace of mind
  • How to become more positive with Raja Yoga techniques
  • Learn ways to overcome bad habits and addictions by changing stress patterns
  • Learn Yoga practices to recover your clarity and wellness by purification of body and mind
  • Break through darkness, self denial, confusion to realize your innate potential

Pre-requisite

There are no prerequisites other than a sincere desire to learn classical yoga.

Swami Sivasankariananda

Swami Sivasankariananda is director of the Los Angeles Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center. She completed her TTC at the Yoga Farm in 1997 and ATTC there in 2008.
