Description

This course is intended to help students understand the ancient Indian Vedic teachings of Vedanta, which also forms the basis for all of the great wisdom teachings of the world, from a practical, experiential level. We will present and discuss alternative theories of the basis for this world and the person starting with the latest scientific data and theories as well as delving into key current and ancient material, psychological and spiritual works and from here explore the basics of Vedantic theory.

Daily Schedule

06:00 – 07:30 am – Satsang: Silent meditation, chanting and lecture
08:00 – 10:00 am – Yoga Class: Asanas and Pranayama
10:00 – 10:45 am – Vegetarian Brunch
11:00 – 12:00 pm – Karma Yoga (selfless service)
01:00 – 02:30 pm – Vedanta for Beginners Workshop
03:00 – 04:00 pm – Free Time and Nature walks
04:00 – 06:00 pm – Yoga Class: Asanas and Pranayama
06:00 – 06:45 pm – Vegetarian Dinner
08:00 – 09:30 pm – Satsang: meditation, chanting and lecture

Arrival and Departure

Arrival – on the first date in time for the Orientation at 7pm and the Satsang at 8pm.
Departure – on the last date after the workshop

We encourage you to arrive by 4pm on Monday, making the most out of the afternoon by joining us for the Yoga class and dinner. You are always welcome and encouraged to extend your stay to any length before or after the course. Please indicate your desired arrival and departure dates on your registration form.

What to bring

Slip on shoes, loose comfortable clothing, writing materials, meditation shawl or blanket, yoga mat, flashlight.

Swami Jnaneswariananda

Swami Jnaneswariananda joined the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in 1995 and has been director of centers and ashrams in Canada and Italy. She teaches Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Anatomy, and Vedanta at Teacher Training Courses in North America, Italy and India. Swami Jnaneswariananda took vows of Sannyas in 2001.
